Cookie Policy

What cookies are

Cookies and equivalent technologies (local storage, session storage) are small data files stored by your browser. We use them to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. This policy explains each category and the lawful basis for it under the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR.

Strictly necessary

These are required for the website to function and do not require consent (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy, exemption for storage strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested):

  • Session & authentication — keeps you signed in across pages.
  • Locale preference — remembers your PT/EN choice.
  • Consent state — records your choices for the categories below.

Optional analytics cookies (consent)

Loaded only after you select "Accept" in the consent notice. Before that, and if you reject, no request is sent to Google.

  • Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) — measures how the website is used so we can improve it: pages visited, session duration and interaction events, including a successful contact-form submission, with no personal data in the event. Page addresses are sent without their query parameters, except the campaign parameters of links distributed by Velqory (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term), so we can tell which campaign brought a visit. These values are held only in your browser's memory until you accept analytics, are sent once, with the first page view after you accept, and are forgotten if you reject or withdraw consent. They are lower-cased and limited to letters, digits, hyphens and underscores, up to 100 characters; a value that looks like an email address or a long number is discarded. The other parameters in the address are not sent to Google Analytics: the address sent includes only the path and, on the first page measured after you accept, these sanitised campaign parameters. The referring page is sent without parameters (from other sites, only their domain). Cookies set on velqory.com: _ga (tells visitors apart) and _ga_<ID> (session state).

Advertising features and Google Signals are off, so no data is used for advertising or personalisation. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses. Event data is kept for 2 months; user-level data linked to the analytics cookie is kept for 14 months, and that period restarts with new activity. We do not use advertising cookies.

Managing your choices

You can accept or reject analytics in the consent notice shown on your first visit, and change your choice at any time in "Cookie preferences", in the footer of every page. If you switch to Reject, the analytics cookies are deleted and Google Analytics stops loading. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser; blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break sign-in.

How long cookies last

Sign-in cookies expire when the session ends. The language preference lasts up to 12 months. The analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_<ID>) last up to 13 months. The consent choice stays in your browser until you change or clear it.
